How about returning it for warranty repair?

I have the same, or almost same, problem. I have to use the slider twice to unlock the device. It's like the device won't recognize the first time you slide it down. Mine's only about four months old, and it's been doing that since day one.

Well mine too does the same (need to swipe twice to unlock...!)...but I have realised that mostly happens when I am running some heavy app...(Like install/unistall some app using App Manager...or using MicroB...etc..)

But still I believe this should not happen in any case.....

No clue what is wrong with it..?????

No problem with a flickering screen? I think those whohave to slide twice might get the more serious problem later.... my slide does not work at all. It is strange that on the Nokia support site there is no reply from Nokia what so ever...

Sometimes it works like it should. No any force needed. No idea what is jamming the switch and I didn't find any dissamble pics so I could not study the mechanics of the switch.

I assume there is no way to fix it by myself. And the ******* official repair/ warranty service here is so slow it takes atleast 2 weeks or more to get it fixed.
Yep. Have that problem too. It only occurs though when using the device intensively so it gets pretty warm. In addition to that I might say it seems to happen most when using my device as a WAP for more than a couple of hours. As soon as I turn of the device to let it cool down quickly, the jamming disappears, so I simply assumed it's a design or production flaw of some sort. Not sure whether I am willing to bring the machine in for repair. Still contemplating.

Similar problem with the phone not always responding to the lock switch. I think this mainly happens when I'm running something in the background, e.g. listening to music, or have a browser window open. The only widgets that I have on are data counter and Foreca weather.

I used very small amount of a lubricate oil to solve this problem. Not a best Idea but still working.

I have a problem with mine also, it's very annoying with writing a long message. My screen just goes black and I need to flick it to get it going again... does it alot. I think it started after I started using the slider in a flicking motion (letting it jump back after).

I had to put some tack in it to keep it constantly in the on position... now my phone works (no blackout) again but I have no more slider. So annoying.
