problem is account-plugin-salut package is broken. The package is irrelevant to qspot, but may stop the spotify libs to be properly installed or something. Try

apt-get remove account-plugin-salut

and see if things get better

apt-get remove account-plugin-salut gives:

E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dkpg/lock - open (11 Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?

erhm..

This could be caused in case you have the application manager open in the background. You could also try to reboot the device, and then try again.

Well were you able to install qspot without errors this time?

I was able to purge and install QSpot without errors, yes.

Well it seems that most options have been tried now. And the error message you got (I assume that you still get the same error message, right?) is only displayed in case the client revision is rejected by Spotify. I could still try to update this revision info to match the latest official Spotify client version, and you could try again with the updated library version.

Great app, but not much use to me without offline mode.

Thanks

Even though it is possible to implement offline mode (and I do indeed know it is one of the most popular feature requests), there are in practice many problems involved, mostly related to how Spotify reacts to such a feature addition. You can look at my previous post in this thread concerning this issue:

I have checked that the despotify library (used by e.g., Yaspot) sends the client version / revision information in an identical way to openspotify used by QSpot, so it is indeed very strange that you get Yaspot to work, but not QSpot. Would you also have possibility to try e.g., footify?
