OT again. So, richwhite, you suggest that for some reason the vast majority of the current nicotine research is wrong? According to your view, nicotine does not cause a chemical effect on brain which releases dopamine and that this is the core of the dependence problem.

I am not saying that you cannot be right. You may be. However, I have not seen anything really that would convince me. If the medical community comes to your line, fine.

Oh, and btw, I should add that nicotine addiction is not particularly dangerous per se. It's actually a very safe addiction because nicotine hardly does more than raises your blood pressure while giving you the high. The only problem is that the delivery method (cigarettes) is so damn bad for your health.

Not entirely, no, but out of respect for the OP of this thread can I suggest moving this to private messages, because no doubt this could easily become quite a lengthy discussion

all academic anyway. Wife brought home beers at the 10 hour mark after work and game was a bogie. Did notice however that gnumeric doesnt update formulas now() and date() on opening. Had to click on each of the fields and hit return to get them to update which isnt ideal.

tomorrow is another day!
