I thought I'd share with you my own bake of emacs 23.2.
It's now part of my daily routine, solidifying orgmode's place in my life even more. Honestly, this was my main motivation in getting this phone, always access to orgmode.
Also, I've compiled auctex, but it is partially included in this archive. auctex puts files in /usr/share/texmf etc. which I didn't include.
Also, besides the normal gtk emacs-23.2 and emacsclient there is a term-version included: emacs-nox
To use, dl package here:
http://archx.demon.nl/emacs_23.2_ARMEL.tgz
in xterm, go to /opt and issue tar xvzf emacs_23.2_ARMEL.tgz
now run /opt/emacs_23.2_ARMEL/bin/emacs
Maybe there are some dependencies you need to take of, for a more in-depth explenation you can go here:
http://sumoudou.org/%E7%9B%B8%E6%92%...ia%20N900.html
This is the page with which I started, the keyboard hack is vital !!
I installed the provided emacs-23.1 deb, found it came with a nifty icon, a startup script but also it came with orgmode 6 and had screen placement issues.
I rolled my own emacs, kept the icon and changed the startup-script to start my version, which incidently does not suffer from the placement issue..
anyway, enough rambling, I hope it's as useful for you as it is for me !
grtz
