theres plenty of warnings on the overclocking thread, wiki, etc, we have all been sufficiently warned and chosen to ignore it so far, a randon mhz rating plucked out of thin air isn't going to change anyones mind here.

please bury this thread in soft peat so it may one day be recycled into something useful as a firelighter.

(edit) btw, overclocked to 1ghz constantly for, well, ages. constantly using psx4m - to the extent i have completed ff7 and 3/4 of the way through ff8.

I overclock my N900 to max and rug it against steaming hot chicks all days without a single instant of failure.

I suggest close or move this thread due to the misleading title and trollish OP content mismatched.

No.

Don't spread false info.

A quick google will show you why you're absolutely WRONG.

Does anyone have data about the acceptable temperature range? Power kernel gives you the ability to check power supply temp. I'm wondering what the range should be.

hot weather temperatures adds up to heat, and heat can potentially damage the device. so maybe that is why some OC cautions includes climate temperatures.

I run at 1150 unless for some reason I plan on being away from any power source for extended timeframe.

about 1 year, No issues so far..

If Hildon cranks up the load to 100% as it is known to do sometimes for no reason, the 900 can get pretty warm at this setting. Also runs the battery down in a 2 hour timeframe too.. !

Since no one has convincingly reported damage from OCing on the N900, there is no real basis for any number-based warnings. I run at 850 and have no sense of danger from doing so.

Also, specific number-based warnings overlook the fact that different N900s are different.
