I read through the entire pr1.3 thread to see what issues everyone was having/not having with the update. saw therre were some apps that made OTA updating fail. uninstalled the ones i had to prevent errors. started with 56mb free on root.

The update appeared to be going fine. FAP was still downloading the files (was at about 900 of 1031) when it crashed. I suspect that the device became read only for a moment or hit a null file or something which caused the crash. (The same happens with modrana when i am doing a large batch download). Now the phone does not see itself as having mp-fremantle-002-pr installed at all. Or any of the deps. FAM reports that it can't install because it needs "xxxx" package "but 'xxx' needs to be installed". doing apt-get from the terminal i got it to start to try and install but it now gives me the error "package cherry needs to be reinstalled, but i cannot find a package for it".

Is there anyway to save my phone, or am i now doomed to a Re-Flash?

If i am doomed, which version of the FW is best? (as in does't have any locks on it like some regions do).

Did you try apt-get dist-upgrade by any chance?

fapman's gui does crash installing 1.3 but the process continues on in the background. If you run top you see gzip and dpgk working away long after for a good 15 minutes.

Goto Settings -> About product

If it says Version 20:2010.36-2 it upgraded to 1.3 sucesfully.

Definitely do the reflash, with the most current global firmware version.

I did see that in top, but i didn't know it was still doing it's job, and i tried to run FAM again, and killed the process. :-/ No one mentioned the crashing issue in the 1.3 thread. All of them said it just worked without a hitch when using FAM. Had i known i wouldn't have killed it.

I don't want to do a reflash. putting all the stupid tweaks on is a pain. Especially since this forum is ******ed and has threads spread all over from heck to breakfast making it hard to find things (since the search returns 50 pages of crap along with the relevant posts that all have to be sorted through and you have to spend 976359082378 hours reading thousands of posts to see if it's even the thread you want). Would it kill the admins to have a single sticky post that linked to the important threads as a table of contents? bah. Whatever. This is what i get for shooting myself in the foot. And posting when i'm tired. Sorry for the rant.
