@Larswad: 2.8% is not all that good, I used to have <1% in idle before these problems.

I have similar problems but am not running powerkernel.

Well the day I updated my battery was great now it takes 2 and a half hours to charge, and goes down a tad bit fast.

I did an OTA update just the other day, and was pleasantly surprised to find the phone with around 80% charge despite a 12 hour day at work. Although I hadn't used very much on the phone - it still seemed slightly better than usual.

Factors which I find influence battery life are; widgets, reception, whether connections are left on permanently or switched off, screen brightness, gps.

Other things - I get the occasional crash which just drains the battery. You get a clue that this has happened if it feels pretty hot. I tend to either run 'top' or just reboot the machine if that happens.

i fixed it, and all i had to do was take the battery out!!
when i put it back in and started it up battery life is now back to normal.
