Ah, I see. I can't load the modules because they are compiled-in to the existing power kernels by the look of it.

I am using the power + 1.3 patches + uboot kernel, and an lsmod doesn't show cfg80211 yet trying to insmod shows that it is already installed.

So it would seem like the kernel has to be flashed with the one in the get-it archive.

Neopwn is crashing as soon as I run it from the menu. Any ideas?

Thanks

That would presumably be due to the lack of compat-wireless in the power kernel.

The amount of fail in this thread is high. A bunch of users, sharing private files, who have no idea what they're doing, to get a penetration testing tool suite that they CLEARLY have no right to be using.

Awesome stuff here.

insmod for me just says "-1 Invalid parameters" for cfg80211 (though rmmod reports it doesn't exist). And same result for lsmod.

I also looked in /lib/modules/2.6.28.10power41 , and it doesn't seem to be in there at all. It is, however, in the power40-wl1 folder... Not sure if that's how it's supposed to be, or just my own glitch. But at any rate, without flashing the kernel I get -1 invalid parameters errors for cfg80211 and Unknown Symbol in Module errors for the three modules you're supposed to insmod after that.

compat.ko and rfkill_backport.ko insmod fine though.

I'm on the same (or similar) kernel. power41d - out of Matan's repository, so I'm guessing you're either on the same one, or you have one of the slightly different ones.

- Edit -

Indeed, Hawaii, it is "fail", by your -oh-screw-it-we've-covered-this-before. Simply put, shove it. Some of us decided to spend our spare time trying to fiddle with stuff that we don't fully understand. There is fail, at least in my eyes, in what I personally did, but that has to do with my own ethics and is outside of what you're *****ing about.

Thanks for the single useful sentence in that post though.

- Edit 2 -

While I may not be getting along with hawaii in half the threads we talk lately, I am more than happy to recognize something productive/positive: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=61730 (This is in response to an earlier post a page or so back talking about Grimwepa, since the poster was unaware of the non-NeoPwn one. Though you need to have injection working either way. [Which the poster in question did get working, so that's not an issue, I think.])

I *just* said what the issue is. None of the kernels you're using this with are compiled for compat-wireless and have the required patches applied+proper headers.

Not only am I answering your questions, I am saving you effort of "fiddling with stuff that you don't fully understand" only to fail.

I know you did. And I said: "Thanks for the single useful sentence in that post though." In response to you telling us what the issue is. (To be fair, it literally was one sentence - not me trying to be snide/derisive/whatever.)

I know the rest of my edit was hostile to you, so I apologize if it wasn't clear enough that that line was sincere.

Oh, I know it was sincere.

I will, however, still continue to "barrage" you and others, with the correct information, until you understand my point.

and FYI, GrimWepa runs perfectly fine without any parts of NeoPwn. The author has explicitly released a package with adjustments for the resolution. I have personally used it, and I have also personally ported/cross compiled the majority of the tools on the list that NeoPwn will include. They simply haven't been appended.

Hello hawaii, welcome to the forums. Please note that this forum is populated by enthusiasts that enjoy fiddling with things they don't fully understand, in order to understand them.

I hope this gives you some context for future replies and helps you minimize your frustration with the types of people who form this community.

I'm not paying $25 for a beta without some proof that it works, or assurances from a reputable developer that he will put some effort into making it work. If he asked for $5-$10 I'd risk it, but not paying $25.
Just as people started to confirm that injection works, guess what? Beta is closed. No problem. I'll just wait... and wait...
I think he quit, honestly. That's the impression you get when the web page isn't updated for a few months. I'm done waiting now. If he wants money, he should try making it available for purchase. Not just rewarding the early gamblers...
p.s.
who buys "hacking tools" anyways? yeah, that's just what i need on my credit card statement when people are being thrown in jail for connecting to unsecured networks and guessing stupid admin passwords for fun.

We clarified that injection worked BEFORE it was released, and then again AFTER it was released.

You're clearly not the user this is aimed at. NeoPwn is hardly "hacking tools". Are you serious with this jazz? It's a compilation of security tools aimed towards the penetration tester, security auditor or similar user.
