Just a note on the battery thing. I had the same problems as you guys with U-boot on ver44. It took me a good while before I finally managed to get my device flashed back to PR1.3.

When I did managed to flash the phone and it booted into Maemo, the battery was almost completely flat i.e. I flashed phone, immeadiatly rebooted and had to put the phone on charge straight away as it was almost dead. What I'm saying is, in my case the battery level did not stop me from flashing.

Also, for the guys who cannot flash - what messages does flasher3.5 display on screen, it would be of help if you posted a copypasta in your reply.

I was able to flash my device with the fully charged battery of my old 5800 so it does make a big difference.

eehrm, I think I want to bail out of this pretty soon.
I had a successful flash of 44 a couple of days ago, the device boots nicely and all. Didn't manage to get that meego codedrop working though, to boot from mmc1 using the u-boot. And i'm pretty sure I've done that SD card preparing right.

Anyhow, I don't want to move up to 45 either, I just want to bail out of this power kernel until it reach a stable state.

My situation is not in a panic or anything, but I want to move back to stock pr1.3 kernel.
Now I'm thinking about the best way to do that. I think I have four alternatives:

1. I have the titans deinstaller in the app menu. Can I trust that one now when the shaky 44 version also have that u-boot integrated. Will that deinstaller remove the u-boot completely and then let the pr1.3 boot like before?
2. Follow the manual deinstall guide on the power kernel wiki (that means using aptitude in xterm). Doing a reinstall of stock pr1.3 and then remove the power kernel?
3. Trying to use the usb with flasher utility to either flash just the kernel or even reflash the complete pr1.3 fiasco image.
4. Stay where I am and just wait for safer ways to upgrade or a safer power kernel, (or rather safe u-boot).

Anyone has any thoughts of what would be the safe way for me to take?

I really hope you all guys who are in deep trouble will find a solution sooner or later. Even if you can only blame yourself for using developer status software I can understand your sadness and anger. The N900 is not only an expensive device, it's a device that we really love.

The N900 battery is the same as 5800/ 5230/ X6.
Find someone who has a fully charged one and try to flash the kernel again.

I hope too but same time I think that anyone who shows any anger or sadness here after he has installed devel & testing app from repositories that brakes device is just showing to other people how incompetent actually he/she is. To put it in not so nicely: making clown him/herself.

Oh dear. I just..must not...aaaargh:

I think so. And n900's is the same as the one for 5800, 5230 and X6. There must be a charger for these, whether it is nokia or third-party.

@slender: haha, yes! (you just learned me something I gotta tell my finnish wife, ehm, but not say it TO her of course...she's not a duffer!)
You are right of course, they should refrain from posting blaims and bashing others, especially people who contribute to the community like Titan and the h-e-n team. But what I meant was that I could understand their anger in despair...we're all just humans in the end.
