Anyone had any luck with VLC 1.1.5 and the N900 profile? Ukki says it works on the WIKI page, so I installed the windows branch from 13/11 and it's still a no-go

You are right, I just tested again and it doesn't work. I must have had mplayer as player when I last tested. Sorry for the false hope.

I'll try to figure out if there's any other mux we could use. And it's odd that mplayer has no problem with asf, but gst fails to work anymore.

it still works for me... i just have to use theora =)

Bollocks... after reverting back to VLC 1.05 (newest Knots server/client) I can't stop a stream from the N900 anymore. Stopped/started a movie 3 times (=pausing) and noticed that the video started skipping/dropping frames, and checked the server status page, and 3 instances of the same stream was running.

Tried resetting settings, unchecked VLC 1.1, migrated, rebooted... same thing

That is actually a bug in the -devel client. Will fix it tonight.

EDIT: New version in -devel, please report if it doesn't fix the issue.

I have an odd issue. I installed everything right, Knots and VLC work fine (W7 x64). I can play in local mode fine, as well as control browser play via N900. I can also use browser mode ok (ish, it seems lower quality).

However, profiles N900, N8x0 fail to play (I see the thumb and the play button, press it, it comes back in 2 seconds with no error). Passthrough works, but at least one media file rebooted my N900 and I'm not eager to relive the experience.

So, does anyone have this issue, with browser, local and pass-through working fine and N900/N8x0 not?

I think I'm down to my last issue. (tracking the fact that multiple IPs render http://localhost:1978 dead took a while).

ETA: Oh, further tests show Theora profile works well, quality and all.

N900 dead and Nokia no longer replaces them. Thanks for all the fish.

Got a new effect: Everything plays just fine in the N900, but the music progress bar is wacky. It moves for a few secs, like say up to ten secs, then it goes back to beginning again. Strange huh?
Anyone else seen this? I don't want to browse ~100 pages of posts back to find out.
