o2online should work in www2sms-1.1.5 which is by now in the repository.


It was due to a bug in mechanize (or at least I think so).

I had to change
br.find_link(text='E-Mail')
to
br.find_link(text='Mail[IMG]E-Mail')

Which looks like a parsing bug in mechanize :-)

Sorry to bother again. But today sending a message via o2 Germany stalled again at step 5. Did they redo their page again? :-s

Can't see any problems, works for me on o2online.de.

I'll try to figure out what makes it so unstable I guess some redirection is not caught or something similar.

Okay, I found the problem.

Occasionally O2 shows a redirect (don't know why). Mechanize is not able to follow this redirect.

If this happens in www2sms-1.1.6 (which is by now in devel-repo) it will no longer hang and you can resend your SMS.

Starting the 1.1.6 version of the really nice app (with installed PR1.3 (qt4.7)) ends with an error message:

in www2sms.py, line 28 in <module> from PyQt4.QtGui import QApplication
The sip module implements API v8.0 but the PyQt4.QtGui module requires API v7.1

What can I do ? What is my problem ? I checked all dependicies from your list. Do you need more information (trace) ?

Update: I have read in other threads, that I have to downgrade the python2.5-sip4 package to an old version. The problem happens with a lot of python apps on maemo with PR1.3.

To issue a: sudo apt-get install python2.5-sip4=4.10.5-maemo0
should help, but is answerd in my case with:

Version '4.10.5-maemo0' can was not found. Where do I have to look for ?

Mhhh, never run into this error but try to install an older available version. See "apt-cache showpkg python2.5-sip4" for versions available.

Without any waranty: try python2.5-qt4-experimental since python2.5-qt4 explecitely states (PR1.2) "apt-cache search python2.5-qt4"

But to be honest I have no clue how to solve these deps (I am Gentoo user so I have not much experience with the way debian manages the stuff)

I got it sorted. I had to change the sources.list for the apt-get command. It uses the same as the included App manager. Since I use the Faster Application Manager, a different sources.list is used by this app. I had to add the fremantle extra repository to the standart app manager and then to update via apt-get update and then to issue the downgrade as described above. Yeaaah. I can send SMS now again without costs.

www2sms 1.2.0 should be ready.

Support for http://www.vodafonesms.cz/index.php?locale=en should be complete.
