I could test the N8 the whole day today and the browser is so incredible slow.
I was mssing my N900 just a few minutes after I gave it away.

EDIT: The device is no longer on sale. After watching very descriptive reviews of both devices on you tube, It turns out the N900 is better than the N8 after all. MODERATORS please delete this thread. Thanks.

At least you have come to a conclusion. What I would suggest though, is to pop in a Nokia Shop or any other mobile phone shop and try the N8 (just to see how it works). Its good for entertainment but for other tasks you want the N900.

the N900 is a superior device. very tempted by the N8 because Maemo looks way better in promos than real life. what really ticks me off is kinetic scrolling, 5 to 8 FPS is pathetic, worse than symbian 1.

still, the OS is Linux, so it's very open. terribly slow UI, even when overclocked to 1.15Ghz, is no reason to get a new phone.
