Well you say that, but on the 3 computers I have tried it on, with the latest versions of OVI and PC suites, messaging doesn't work and all mention of it is a greyed out.

So if you did something in addition to installing and hooking the device by USB please fill me in on the details.

For those who say "latest" version, could you actually state which version number instead? "Latest" is meaningless.

I have a problem with contacts sync. Most of the time, I do my editing of contacts on the N900. When sync, the operation duplicates some contacts (previous + edited) and need to manually delete them from both Ovi and my N900. Any idea how to resolve this?

I cleared all the Ovi Suite contacts the last time to minimize this problem. Unfortunately, the same could not be done for Ovi online...so I stopped using Ovi online.

1. Conflict resolution is totally useless.
2. Advanced options is nowhere.
3. Nagging for Nokia login. wtf
3. Play with it if you don't mind cleaning up a mess (if you did not do a backup of contact and calendar in MS Outlook before you started).

Conclution: OVI SUite for Nokia N900 is a huge mistake from Nokia.

Lets hope its ONLY N900 that have this, regarding OVI Suite.

I used PC suite as well but Ovi is much better and easier to use

1. I used contacts from my old phone and Ovi kindly suggested to replace them and works just fine

2. Not sure what you mean by that , Options it Tools menu have a lot of options , is there anything in particular you miss?

3. It only asks once during the install and then you can sign off

(3)? 4. I think it works quite well and these whole Ovi idea looks nice, btw 3rd version is coming out soon

As you might have seen in my earlier post. And the "latest" publicly available version.

PC Suite version 7.1.51.0.

Windows 7 64. No messaging support on either programs.

I updated to Ovi Suite 2.2.1.23 and to my surprise message syncing does indeed work.

So if you did something in addition to installing and hooking the device by USB please fill me in on the details.
Not really, just set the sync options.

Running on XP under virtualbox FWIW.
