Do you have /home/var/log/syslog?

I have now more confusion - file /home/etc/event.d/rcS-late was NOT edited by script.

I don't know - why. Your copy of that file was successfully converted by my script. The possible reason - transfer unpacked script files via FTP from Windows (which may change CRLF) or so.

I attach /home/etc/event.d/rcS-late, please replace it after M32GBinit.sh and re-try if you have time.

Another wild guess - can you set device language english before and re-try? I am just thinking about encoding in "sed" - it may have toll (or not), I use a special characters which can be interpreted incorrectly by C-library string functions in "sed".

Or remove any LC_ from environment in XTerm before M32GBinit.sh

I created configuration for bootmenu-n900 and I moved system to /home/maemo5 So /opt is not same for internal flash system and for system on eMMC.

It needs patches for bootmenu-n900. I testing it now and later I publish my patches.

How to upgrade "HOME" root file system to PR1.3 Over-the-Air:

There are two choices:

A. Just reboot into Nokia UBIFS root file system, remove "/home" root file system via M32GBrm.sh, upgrade UBIFS root file system to PR1.3 and start over (see first message). Actually, upgrade can be done via UBIFS root FS flashing here too instead of Over-the-Air in this case.

B. Upgrade OTA without loosing "/home" root file system:

- 1. Reboot into Nokia UBIFS root file system

- 2. Upgrade Over-the-Air it with PR1.3 in usual way (prepare via removing blocking applications, upgrade and reboot).

- 3. If you running NON-stock kernel (like Titan's OC) - then copy kernel modules to "/home" root FS via command

cp -a /lib/modules/2* /home/lib/modules

- 4. Reboot to "/home" root FS

- 5. Perform Over-the-Air upgrade to PR1.3 a second time (this time - upgrade of "/home" root FS).

I did it and it works. The only problem was - the last step (5) ran 5 time longer then upgrade of UBIFS, in my case - around 4 hours. I still don't know the reason and it may be a very unfortunate pattern of eMMC writes which kills a write performance. Or something slow with USB access during upgrade. Or just bigger root FS - much bigger now

However, it finishes well and after reboot anything works. Bluetooth needs explicit "enable" and 3G may needs some adjustment. I believe backup before and restore after may help in this too but I didn't bother with restore (just fixed BT "ON" and 3G configuration to T-Mobile). BTW, the same problem is in UBIFS after upgrade to PR1.3

hi,

Thanks for the scripts. I have used them and everything works fine, except that applications like file manager and camera does not recognize MyDocs properly. MyDocs folder is mounted to /home/user/MyDocs as it should be and i can see it in file manager but not as "Nokia N900" as usual but as MyDocs. and Normally there are folders like Documents (which really is .documents and is hidden) but they are not visible in file manager. i can see them in terminal with "ls -al". i don't know what is wrong any help is appreciated. i have also attached some screenshots.

Nothing is wrong; that is the dumb default way they want things to be. Yes, it is confusing and inconsistent -- they think that helps you out.

it is not the default way. the default way is that MyDocs folder is seen as "Nokia N900", the hidden .documents folder is seen as Documents, .sounds is seen as Audio Clips or something like that, etc.

This way Pictures application cannot find my pictures taken by the camera and if i select "default camera folder" from the filters above it shows no pictures even if my DCIM folder (which is normally the default camera folder) is full of pictures i have taken.

I agree with you that the default way is a bit dumb but the thing is set up to work in that configuration. This way it is actually dumber than the default way.

Interesting, I didn't take that into account - I rarely work with file manager.

Shared media is a network storage. I just picked up a lot of file from it. You have no mSD, right?

I guess, it is because MyDoc now is treated differently and it has no special meaning, so any directories with name starting from '.' (dot) are hidden.

I am not sure that it has a sense to find a solution for this...

BTW, "Photo" application now shows a huge number of files. Most of them are icons but I unexpectedly found some photos which I never recognize! It seems it is some application backgrounds (like 'stellarium').
It seems it also has the same problem - some pre-configured directories now are different.
