Hi Guys,

I was searching many forums and can't find anything that could help me with my problem :

The problem is that right now i have PR1.3 and the newest power kernel46. Everything including h-e-n,camera, fm radio etc is working.

The problem is : sometimes my widgets on the desktop just freeze - especially email, talks, internet and phone. After that i need to reboot the phone and when i do - there is is no hands video - the phone starts and everything is working without media player.
Media player is showing me unrecognized file format. Then i reboot one more time but the break before turning on must be at least 1 minute or i have to remove the battery. After that the phone is working at 100% but it is very annoying.

So my question is what can i do about freezing my widgets and i found something about maf-gw-streamer - someone on the forum said to reset it manually but i just don't know h$ow to do it.....and i don't know if that is a good way to repair media player.

If you know what can cause that freeze and media player not working please help me.

I noticed one more thing ( strange ) after some reboots ( about 4 or 5 ) the battery starts to get very hot and there is more power drain than before. Is it related to new kernel or something else ?

Please help

Hi, welcome to the forum

The only thing to fix the desktop apart from rebooting is to run the following

Code:
root
killall hildon-desktop
I've found MohammadAG's most recent modified hildon-desktop to cure this.

i will try to do it next time it happens.

But what about media player is it normal to behave like this or maybe some other package is in conflict.

Thank you.

When i try to install it - i get that hildon-desktop is already the newest version.

I checked and the name of the file ( version ) match.
What should i do ?

About the freezing widgets... I had the same problem a while back, and found that a couple of widgets were the culprits: "Touch search widget" and an older version of queen-beecon widget (queen beecon is fine for me now though)
After I uninstalled those I stopped having the problem with the freezing desktop and widgets. Since then I have re-installed Queen-beecon and all is well... If I were you I would check all of your widgets one by one, I'm sure that 1 of them is responsible for your issues...
