hi,I tried the rygel app, and here it worked very well!
I installed rygel, then started it from xterm and noticed that the trackerd was working right after start. I waited till it was finished and then I could access the music, videos etc files of my n900 from my PS3! I could watch the videos/pictures/music right away or copy it to my ps3! Fantastic!
So maybe its your tv which had problems...

Hoping someone may have the answer, I have a LCD TV that is DLNA enabled, I want to know if there is a DLNA server than I can install on the N900 that will allow my TV to see the media on my phone.
Strictly Phone ==>> TV
Any ideas, im not to technical with linux so something with a GUI would be nice
