I tried connecting a usb network adapter. The connection between the adapter and the N900 worked but the N900 does not connect to the internet.

How can I make this work? What packages must I install?

If nothing is available can someone write a program that allows us to do so?

Thanks

Hi,

I was just wondering: after I updated to the latest version of h-e-n I am no longer able to use any of my flash pendrives - clicking 'mount' in any of the 3 speed modes does not mount any of the flash memories I use. However, eariler it did work... Am I missing something?

Cheers,
Ralph

first check if it is listed in /dev/ ,if it is then mount it manually from x-terminal , or install pmount (post 440) , and use the script I posted earlier (post 484), it gets list of usable partitions from /proc/partitions , then manipulate the list into getting names of partitions only , discard mmcxxxxxx , loopx , and uses pmount to mount the remaining partitions .

please compare most recent syslogs with the ones you got on "earlier working" tests.
This is beta - we can not debug anything, without *you* providing proper data to analyze what's going on. Please refer to syslog and dmesg manpages and pkg description, dmesg is available on every system, for the much better syslog you need to install the appropriate pkgs.
See: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...esg#post875006 for details about how to provide details.

cheers

Thank all h-e-n devs for their great work. I was able to connect and use Gemplus GemPC Twin smartcard reader. No hard testing though but it works perfect with my apps.

P.S. thanx again

After using kernel hen with V46 power and close application ... battery consumption is unchecked and only takes about 2 hours.

maybe you want to say :
After using kernel-power-V46 with hen and after i closed the application ... battery consumption is unchecked and battery last for 2 hours only.

this is normal because attached usb devices drain power from phone battery
n900 can provide max 200 mA so if only usb device is powered, battery can work only 6 h and less if N900 itself is powered

Thanks for the correction, sorry my translation.

The problem is that the extra consumption continues after closing the application, previous versions did not suffer from this problem.

for longer hostmode sessions
you need y cable ( Ex: from external hard drive )
steps:
1 start h-e-n
2 apply vbus, enumerate
3 connect to pc
4 disable vbus & keep h-e-n open this prevent bme start
5 mount manually with
Code:
/opt/h-e-n/mount.sh --mount
...........

unmount with
Code:
/opt/h-e-n/mount.sh --unmount
charging is made by charger chip ( autonomous mode, will see still orange led )

follow this at your own risk !
