As xalted13 stated it was the Icon Pack that caused the update to fail.

I installed the Icon pack and the updates updated perfectly.

Time to have a play.

Yep, icon pack is going to be installed while black-plastic-theme is still there and since it wants to place the icons to the same place where the others are... well, it fails for safety reasons

Will fix it tomorrow. In the meantime solution is:
a) uninstall the old black-plastic-theme before downloading the new

OR

b) after failed upgrade, run this at terminal:
sudo gainroot
apt-get install -f

Ok, fixed plastic-icon-pack has been uploaded to extras-testing. Please try to upgrade your apps now (remember to refresh the catalogs first!).

Hi, could you please re-add the button for preserving own background images again? When changing theme now all settings are getting set back to defualt values including backgrounds and I have to rechange it all again. Best would be you could really integrate the full theme-management dialog you offered in your theme packs. Actually it's no better than using stock theme changer.

EDIT: sorry, this was meant for theme customizer, not for plastic theme

Do it like this:
- set walls to what you like
- save it as new theme, it will save then save all your current mods including wallpapers as new theme which you can then choose to use whenever you want

Does it save modifications only or complete modified theme? If I change theme and then apply saved mods does it use the newly chosen theme and modifications or old modified theme? Sorry, I just didn't understand that yet. In changelog for plastic theme you wrote:
Plastic Theme Setup is now forsaken. Instead package now depends on Theme Customizer which can do eveything that Plastic Setup was able to do.
That's why I thought all available options would now be concentrated in theme customizer.

It saves your current setup as new theme. I don't know how to explain it better :-D

Example:
- I have NSeries theme currently active
- I go and set wallpapers to what ever I want
- I go and do some other moddings with theme customiser (change backgrounds for clock etc)
- I tap on the top bar of the Theme Customizer and choose to save as new theme
-> everything that I see on my desktop etc is now saved as new theme

Allright, so it's not modifications only but the complete set of theme+modifications. Therefore will using another theme not offer the option to just add the manually set modifications, right? I would have to reapply them all again. That's pretty sad. It was one of the benefits of old behaviour that my personal modifications (like background image and font settings) were always applied to new theme too. I could open theme customizer and it was reading the settings and then I just applied them again. Very handy if one doesn't like all the shipped images that come with themes or the selected font settings.
Would it be possible to add this again to theme customizer? It's nice to have the theme selector integrated but this breaks all my settings everytime I change theme (and I just change it often as I'm seeking for a new standard theme).

If it's only the wallpaper that's annoying you, then I think I can give up using the built-in theme selector (I only added it in since someone asked to integrate launch-button for it) and code my own which would leave the walls untouched.

But transparencies and fonts are always theme independend.
