After returning my N900 THREE times, (3 months in repair, 8months in use), i've sold my N900.
My first phone Nokia 5110: awesome.
My 3310: Awesome.
My 6220: Fell apart after merely 2 years (€400+)
My 6280: Fell apart after again 2 years (€400+)
My N900: Broke.(€580).
Btw: I always fall in love with my phone, I treat it like my own child. With care, nice clothing and all the love in the world. But again, the thing just stopped working. 3 times.
I'm Very disappointed in Nokia. I thought they were serious with the N900. But I was wrong. Too bad for the Maemo community, but I don't think there is a future with Nokia. You know what, I'd rather have an Iphone4. There I said it, after all those months arguing with those macfags why the N900 would be better.
Tomorrow, I'm buying an HTC Desire Z.
I hope that phone does respond when I get an incomming phonecall. But I'm pretty sure it will.
I'll surely miss the 32gigs, the good camera and speakers, back-up program, and others.. But luckily I won't be frustrated anymore about the lag, black-screen-phonecalls, crappy semi-working/rarely installable (but handy!) apps, ..

Even thought I can some points vaguely agree I think we have again case of "I installed stuff outside Nokia & extras repositories and now my phone is laggin so Nokia is responsible for making me do this kind of stuff"

His phone got smashed because he couldn't handle the raw n900 power. He squashed it in anger when it refused to behave like an i..., that's what happened.

No, 3 times hardware issues. I did install stuff from extras repositories, when the phone got too laggy, I just got rid of that stuff.
Also, I had to flash the new firmware. Too hard too make a decent over the air-update?
The problems: First time: The onscreen keyboard didn't appear anymore, later, i could only slide anymore. No more tapping.
Nokia gave me a new N900. This phone had white spots on the screen. As a photographer, it's just not done showing my portfolio with white/light spots on the screen (I could live with the lag when sliding through +-1000px images.). After a month, the screen was replaced. A few weeks went by: Suddenly, no more apps on my homescreens. No more menu-button and time indication. After rebooting the device, it just woulndt start anymore. It kept rebooting. (WAIT! Maybe it was just Nokia's way to finally give that reboot-function ) I went back to the store, they checked, and told me it was a hardware problem again. The phone is fixed now. And sold. Maybe my N900 was hexed. Maybe al of my Nokia's (except the oldscool ones).

And the speakers: Yes, they were good for a phone, surely if you compare it with HTC. That harsch htc-sound is a nightmare compared to the pretty deep and warm stereo sound of the N900. But now, in total peace with myself, I can accept that

C'mon guys, don't cry because you don't want to hear the truth. I've been very pro maemo and nokia. But I realised the pro's couldn't live up to the con's.

Raw power? LOL, it couldn't even handle a simple phonecall. Why the hell does the processor still needs to fire out 600MHz when you stopped a phonecall.
Anyway, i'm not even gonna bother trying to find anymore pro's and con's. I used the phone, am disappointed, and moving on.

I'm very thankfull that they replaced and fixed my N900 without asking a single cent. But I can't keep returning my phone untill I run out of warranty.
