what they meen is that they don't take any resposability for the software provided by this catalog, and the software can be harmful. if you affraid you shouldn't install any of them. as well as u can check the code if it's opensource.
P.S. you can install only that app, just go to the repo from browser and download the deb and open it with HAM

i think u r talking about the url waht there is mention in every catalog , well if it is then i tried to copy and paste the url in the web broswer but it gives me 404 erorr

Isn't it kinda "uneffective" (read. nonsense) to install the .deb file manually, instead of adding a repo? odds of malware is same, if it's a malware repo -which does not exist for N900 yet afaik- that particular debian package would be malware too, and you are installing it.
