Hi - I had two white spots on my Nokia N900 LCD visible on a bright screen like on a white background.

I sent it for repair and yesterday (12/17) it had said waiting awaiting replacement drive with a status saying the phone cannot be repaired.

Today, I receive a notification that my phone has been shipped.

This is the status of the phone:

Status date Status
Current Status Shipped Repaired Original Phone
12/17/10 Repair in Progress
12/17/10 Awaiting Replacement Device
12/16/10 Received
12/14/10 Pending Receipt by the Repair Center

It seems they are sending the original phone back after repair, my question is why would they say the device was not repairable and then all of a sudden the same day repair and now shipped it back.

Anyone experience the same?

Thanks!

Ah ok - thanks for the update, so the phone I probably will be getting is a replacement unit I guess.

I had sent mine in for the same reason, and thy sent it back right away, with a note saying they couldn't see any bright spot! Then my phone fried due to some faulty wiring or charger in the car, so they then sent me a new one that has this weird charging problem. Basically it will always complain that there isn't enough power to charge it. Usually after many hours, it does eventually charge, but the moment I unplug it, it complains that the battery is low.

After a reboot, it is fine again.

I have sent it back once for this already, and they did the same thing. Sent it back to me saying nothing is wrong with it....

Well this is the first time i sent it, and i guess some sort of repair was done, as the first note said the device is not repairable waiting for replacement. Then like within 24 hours it said they shipped my original phone, and when i look online the prior status says 'Repair In Progress'.

It appears something was done, hopefully the right repair.

I got the phone today and they resolved the Issue with the two bright spots, but there is a scratch/black mark on the screen at the top now visible on a white background.

It maybe a dead pixel, but am not sure, it is extremely frustrating as I paid like $15 to ship the phone, I got it today, and I am like trying to wipe the smudge but its like a black mark there on a white background.

I called them and they said a Supervisor will give me a call in 24-48 hours.

This is what the repair sheet said:

Software Upgrade and Phone Reset

4850238 LCD AM 800X480 COG16.7MCO Caucasus

Display Problems with Main or CID display and display backlights

Anyone know how these guys are with responding to repairing the phone after they didnt fix it the first time.

thanks

How do you check repair status online? I sent my broken WH-205 headset to Alabama repair center (Palco) last month and so far have not received any phone call or email from them...

Thanks. It doesn't show anything for my IMEI, I guess because I sent headset and not N900 itself.

Anyone have a similar experience, how soon do the supervisor contact? Also, do thye send a prepaid label, I don't want to pay again to ship it out due to their fault.
