The last version of Fcamera is in September 28th, and the Shutter lag is really a problem in FCAM driver, which takes more than 1 second. Here is the feedback months ago in fcamera website:

Oh, we wish it could be faster.
It's actually a low-level driver issue - the version of the OMAP3 imaging pipeline drivers that come with the N900 have about a 700ms lag when you switch capture resolution.
The newer versions of this driver are much better about this, but backporting it to the N900 is really not very straightforward, as far as we can tell (we haven't really tried it, so can't be sure, of course).
I love Fcamera, and blessN900 is also built upon its driver, but it seems there is no new release any more. I hope someone can let us know whether this project is still ongoing?
