There is no significant difference between your and my syslog in firing up Panorama; except Pano works for me but does not for you.... Syslog should capture any system usb / storage weirdness but nothing. Strace should capture any programme usb / storage weirdness but nothing. Reflash does not help... Sigh! I fear that this is so idiosyncratic an issue that it will remain unresolved...

You could try a complete reflash (both OS and storage) and install Panorama first. If that failed then there simply has to be a hardware issue. Is that knowledge worth the effort?

Hopefully I don't think I really need Panorama, but I'd like to test it... Si, i'll do without for the moment, I'll give it a test on my father's n900 device, and if I discover this program is the key of my future life, I'll reflash my whole n900
