Ofono, ... (snip) ... But the part that involves you talking into the microphone doesn't (different hardware stack).
Which is why you can send and receive phone calls and sms. The other person just can't hear you.

True, but for me the phone is actually annoying most of the time. I hate receiving phone calls when I'm doing something else. =P. But that just may be my experience on the maemo platform where a phone call clashes with all the other processes,
