That's less trivial than anything anyone criticizing the N900 nowadays has, that isn't also be an iPhone flaw (oh, except that's not all this forum has on the iPhone, now is it? There's some very nice lists up for grabs. If this was an iPhone bashing thread, I assure you people would be happy to list them all). Portrait mode isn't available, but that's not exactly a bug, that's intended. Now, before fMMS came out and some other stuff was done, yeah, you could argue there were unfixed issues, but at least MOST of the bugs that the N900 has were community-fixable. Where-as with the iOS just about EVERY bug you have is inside a closed blob.

As is, also, regarding the danramos' post: I've never had the phone ringing glitch, and I suspect the majority of the N900 owners/users haven't... Unlike this little iPhone glitch, which happened, near as I can tell, in EVERY iPhone.

Very well...

Nokia support glitch leaves some N900 users without Flash 10.1!
Nokia hardware glitch leaves some N900 users without a USB port!
Nokia executive decision glitch leaves some N900 users without customer service!

Better? You could, I suppose, argue that those are intentional from Nokia. In any case, I'd be careful about tossing those stones around.

Now you're just making a silly criticism of capacitive touchscreens, not the iPhone in particular.

On the one hand, you can touch your N900's screen with a glove! You also neglected to mention that you get very precise measurements of touch points.

On the other hand, you also lack smooth swiping gestures, can't use pinch and zoom and you cannot perform multi-touch gestures on your N900 screen. Also, because it's resistive, you can't use a good, scratch/damage-resistant gorilla-glass material. It seems you might NEED to use special gloves, too. Kid gloves.

Awesome. It's funny to see you dismiss yourself from the conversation so eagerly when you're unwilling to admit your own shortcomings and claiming superiority. I laughed.

I'm not accustomed to defending the iPhone side of things except that it just seems silly to pick on the iPhone, when it seems like you're living in a glass house yourself and you're tossing rocks, trying to hit their house through your walls.

The problem was present in other Apple devices as well. Apple, which had been aware of the issue, said on January 2 that the alarms should have started to function properly by Monday January 3.

With regards to the mishap, Gartner analyst Carolina Milanesi said "Apple certainly needs to fix it as soon as possible, but I doubt this will impact sales or reflect negatively on Apple itself."

Great so the iPhone can't wake people up....

So what - in the U.S., it can't make phone calls either :-)
