has anyone managed to run d4x in easy debian? It exits as soon as I add new download. On command line I get segmentation error. Is there any download manager with gui for maemo5?

I'm afraid I don't use GPRS (or even have an account to test it with) but it's hard to see how that could make a difference. Something strange with the routing tables perhaps? Maybe some judicious route tweaking would help?

Please can someone help me as I'd love to get this running. Every time I go to install I get a message that says' Unable to install Easy Debian' ' application package missing libxmu6 (<=1.0.4-1).

ITried to find the missing package but cant seem to find it anywhere in the repo's (well, one that will install on the N900). I did try in a terminal but still failed. Think I probably need to add the correct repo or something but I dont know how.. :-(

Be greatful for some help as I'm still learning. Thank MM.

tick all repos, refresh repo, then
apt-get libxmu6
should do the job.

Thanks for your reply. Think I'm doing this wrong. When you say tick all the repos do you mean in the app manager?

I've got all the extra, extra-testing, extra-devel enabled but Easy Debian's Installer fails with 'Unable to install, Application package missing : libxmu6 (<=1.0.4-1).

The only place I've been able to find this file is here:

http://repository.maemo.org/pool/fre...e/libx/libxmu/

However, I've been unable to add this repo using the Apps Manager lists, whats more the Maemo Repos page states that 'SDK repositories are meant to be used with apt-get only within the SDK environment'.

I've tried to install it using x-terminal (with your suggestion) but I'm not 100% sure how to add this repo to my available lists and if it can be installed this way as my command-line knowledge is not great.

The error I get is 'cant find package' so I've probably not added something correctly.

Be grateful for a line by line on how to get this package installed.

Hope someone can help. Cheers MM.

since you already found the location of package download armel one from the url you wrote. Copy the file to MyDocs folder, that is first place you see in default file manager with images, documents etc directory.

in xterm
cd /home/user/MyDocs
dpkg -i libxmu6*.deb

if there is permission denied etc error, then
sudo gainroot
before above commands.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Joseph, that did the trick. Easy debian is now installed and downloading the image.

Think I need to work on my basic command line knowledge

Thanks again MM.

HI,

does anybody know, how to increase the fontsize of LXDE?
When i use the Openbox Settings Manager, or appearance settings, nothing is changed :-(

I wonder why Mighty Mouse wasn't able to install libxmu6 from the repos? If he was having problems there are probably others...

lq_sunshine: try editing this file in your home dir (when not running LXDE), change the font sizes, and see if it helps: .config/openbox/lxde-rc.xml
