Best and Stable ( Best-Stable ) - Maemo

MeeGo - really not ready ...

Android - Not stable ... majority of the feature's seem to work .. but then i don't think it's yet so very stable

So Clearly Maemo wins and this Topic just wont make any sense .

Maybe waiting for MWC next month which is dedicated to mobile devices.

The only stable OS for N900 is M5.

Well i hate to say it. Android will Win whether we want to believe it or not. At the rate at which things are going and the backing from Google. Wasn't Meego suppose to come out last year???. They better come into the game offering just about EVERYTHING Android is offering right now. They better not leave out Copy/Past like MS did and is now trying to fix. They better come out swinging or they are doomed.

Nokia has their own show, like RIM, called Nokia World. It was like last October or something, that's where phones like the C7 were officially announced.

They may or may not be big in MWC, not too sure.

I hate to say it but at this rate Android will make the features in Maemo obselite and no longer unique.
I do enjoy Maemo greatly but I have had a taste of Android on the N900 and I have to say my personal bet is despite all the DRM stuff.
Android will take the lead in terms of Linux based Internet Tablets, Phones/Cell Phones and Mobile Devices.
The speed of which Android has progressed is astonishing and if we look at how long it takes Apple's IOS and Maemo to come out with updates&bug fixes it is very slow in comparison.
The little green robot will rule all and Windows phones are no longer a luxury and if microsoft has any smarts they will break into the business phones industry and if they can take on blackberry then go for it but Linux is the way to go.
Properiatary software and OS's are nearly obselite, I hope its open source platforms&OS's from now on

@ cenwesi & geekygenes , errrrr...... both u guys didn't read the first post in this thread did you, while your points may be valid, they are completely OT, :P The question was "which is the best/most stable OS for the n900" :P and the answer is obviously maemo, since meego and nitdroid have limited functionality at the moment on our devices.

Sorry thanks for the heads up
Yes I agree that Maemo is the most stable OS for the N900.
Of course it is as they were most likely designed on top of each other and I am not going to be light on this in the slightiest.
Where Maemo is the most stable OS, There are still problems which bug the heck out of me such as the bme/charging for the N900.
This problem is persistant and does not bode well as it will ruin your battery and probably short it no doubt and this coupled with a loose/faulty usb port does not help either.
Now all physical problems aside there is one other thing which stumps me why only provide a small partition for applications as the total to date is way over in total size and this is not to say that, I expect everyone to install every application known to date for the N900 but I myself install a lot of applcations.
I need the space and yes I am aware, I can just to rewrite the partition table and rewrite the partitions for the flash memory but I strongly feel this issue should of not been an issue in the first place.
But downsides a side it is a good little OS and its most supported area is the social side of things with integration for most of the social sites&social networks out there.
I would say if I had to give an overall mark percentage our of 100% it would be 95% out of 100% for Maemo.
