Anyone else signed up with fon http://en.fon.com/ to share their wifi? Seems like an ideal way of gaining low cost roaming wifi for 770 users.

I would have, but it does not work with my router hardware.
I might become an "alien", though.

Nokia 770 + FON = The Wave Of The Future

I think we will see more amazing applications like FON that will create entire new genres of mobile wireless devices and services. It also will make way for strange network set-ups: Imagine someone with a laptop set-up as a wireless web server in the men's bathroom of a Best Western that is using someone elses FON connection locateed at the truck stop across the street.

All the while, I'm reading an article from a site on the guy's server to potential clients, who end up picking up my contract. ^_^

I set up a fon hotspot near the geographic middle of San Francisco. Unfortunately, it appears the 770 cannot connect to it. It seems like a problem with the Opera browser and fon login scripts.

Overall, the current fon software and servers are very buggy. I'm excited about it, but think we may need to wait a few months for some stability.

It took a while, but my discounted Fon router arrived yesterday and it seems to work fine with the 770.

Ok, nothing much gained so far as I already had wireless access at home. So now I need to get these things into shops, etc. in town. But I've got a couple of places that are already interested.

My 770 worked well with the FON router but the N800 and N810 have tweaked their power saving settings so without turning power saving off or on lower it it will work very badly.
