Try these two links.
The first one integrates to the OS a bit better but requires an HID keyboard. I'm pretty sure your stowaway keyboard supports this, but just in case the second link is compatible with non HID profile keyboards (uses serial port).

Considering the date on the post, I'm sure you've already finished your battle, but I'll leave this note on my battle to help others.
I purchased a Stowaway Sierra by Think Outside. It has the 5th row for numbers. I like it so far. Anyway, I got the maemo-bt-plugin (the first link mentioned above) and tried to install it onto my 770 (I have OS2006 v3.2006.49-2 installed). It failed with an error about there already being a /usr/bin/xev. Grr! :-) Looking around, I found the App-Mgr has a log feature and saw the command it was trying to do and the error. So I "ssh root@localhost" and "cd /usr/bin; mv xev xev.old" so I'd have that if I needed it back. The install failed, as dpkg detected the conflict in its database, not that the file existed (something new to me. :-)
After some research, I found I needed to do:
/usr/bin/dpkg --force-overwrite --install '/media/mmc1/maemo-bt-plugin_0.6.1-1_armel.deb'
That went on successfully, but still no BT icon up top like there should have been. Experimenting, I removed the clockpanel applet. Lo and behold, my cpu/ram meter came back to me. It had been so long since I'd seen it, I'd forgotten I'd installed that. :-) So I had 7 icons before, and 7 icons now. Hmmm...maybe I have BT, but I just can't see it? So I deleted another app that put an icon up top and rebooted. This time, I saw a BT icon. YEAH!
From there, it was all straight forward. I went into the BT settings, set it to "Stowaway English". Then I connected. It failed the first time and rebooted for some reason, but then after it came back up, I tried again and connected the second time. It worked very well.
Now it's easy to use the xterm and vim. I think I'm really going to like this.

I have just bought a N770 and an iGo (Dell branded) Bluetooth Keyboard.
My simple question, I hope, is how do I get the keyboard to work with the N770.
