You know, I think the fact that Nokia released Symbian^3 in an unfinished state really is telling. Soon the qwerty portrait update is being released, which is good news for N8 owners, but why wasn't this part of the original OS? People don't want to spend $600 on a new E7, to then have to wait 4 months for those browser updates, or whatever, to make it work the way they expected it to in the first place!

...Symbian makes me feel like as if I'm being treated like a 2 year old, getting locked up in a very small playpen with a squeaky ball as my only tool, and then neglected.
Atleast with Maemo I'm getting locked up and abandoned in McGyver's garage.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the E7 actually is the same device pictured in the N9 rumor blogs a few months back - an early prototype anyway.

they might indeed abandon symbian but by far we at least had to wait about a year for pr1.3 after n900 release while symbian 3 is already headed to pr2.0 on feb and pr3.0 on Q2. just a few months after n8 release. and reportedly packing 50+ major features on just pr2.0. that is just what i meant by my support comment. also,
if they were to drop symbian, they would have already done so a long time ago. don't you think?
fact is not everyone are like us who spend most of the time tinkering with the OS itself.
I have an N900, N8 & iphone4 (all without contracts). but I'm not a "fan" of them. they're just for communication and fun. nothing more...
I don't need a phone to feel special. And I don't "love" my phone, I love my wife. We use the word "love" in a different and more appropriate context.
