basically i have been using my N900 and just assumed that the level of brightness for the keyboard backlight was a standard setting however since installing NITdroid i have noticed that in NITdroid my backlight is far brighter than in maemo is there a way to edit something in terminal to increase brightness to max in maemo

keyboard backlight is controlled by the notification led's chip so go to
/etc/mce/mce.ini and look for something with the word "kb" in the beginning there.

I am surprised there is nothing on this subject :|
This could be very interrested, although very power-consuming as well, but is there a way to change the color for exemple? This might be impossible, but if we could somehow link the notification led's chip to the music player, and have the lights go with the beats, that would be godlike lol.

mmmmm yes.... seems to me it is to little settings for this.... how ever it would be nice to set a level of brightness of keyboard like you can set a display brightness level...

Code:
echo disabled > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-2/2-0032/engine3_mode
echo 255 > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-2/2-0032/leds\:lp5523\:kb1/brightness
echo 255 > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-2/2-0032/leds\:lp5523\:kb2/brightness
echo 255 > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-2/2-0032/leds\:lp5523\:kb3/brightness
echo 255 > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-2/2-0032/leds\:lp5523\:kb4/brightness
echo 255 > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-2/2-0032/leds\:lp5523\:kb5/brightness
echo 255 > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-2/2-0032/leds\:lp5523\:kb6/brightness
I stole it from the knightrider script.

Edit: This is not perm when keyboard is closed or blacks out the engine is running again and its restored to original state. That was more like a proof of concept it's a little brighter then original.
