I compiled Koffice, Kspread and Kchart, are not working yet, I need to recompile again and see if I can figure it out.

Here is some 3.5.8 preview pics with KOffice

I look forward to your comments

Wow thats amazing... the 810 is being released with 2 megs internal memory to run 2008os which is only ... what 256 megs?

I think nokia built the 810 to be kde+koffice ready! (all in internal memory)

When will you release the fiasco mr penguin?!

2GB internal memory you mean? I think most of that is used by maps for the GPS.

So he got something right, then? Mind you, it was something rather obvious.

And Krita, Kspread, Kchart

So that would be a full koffice suite

Woo Hooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KDEPIM, Koffice

All of my current hacks will not work without alterations on 2008OS

The good news is I have a working KDE 3.5.8 with kdepim and koffice compiled in chinook.

2008OS KDE BETA TESTER PM ME!! IT WILL NOT RUN ON 2007OS SO DONT BOTHER

If you see anything you would like me to include, let me know soon....

kde-apps.org (within reason, and no qt4 deps)

Another bit of good new, is that the audio on 2008OS seems to be working great KDE. No distortion in Juk when doing other tasks...

This is huge.

I'd be interested in being a part of testing. I'll have my N810 in hand as of tomorrow night. My experience with Linux is limited to working with a RedHat machine as my rendering workstation, but with the Nokia in my pocket all the time I should be able to catch up to be useful as a tester.

Gotta read through that app list, but I'm sure there's lots of stuff there that I could use. I'm especially looking forward to any audio and graphics apps that'll work on the N810.

My only request is that you make this edition of KDE easier to install.
Oh also, not sure if this is possible, but Wine?

Well, as of right now it is just a tarball, and you will need to be booting from MMC with 1.5GB boot partition prior to untarring KDE. Its about 950MB to install.

Once I get my n810, I will release the final tarball, then I will see what I can do about an alternate install process. Well, we'll see what I can come up with? Its gonna be a month before Im gonna get to looking at that.
