Usable ought to trump pretty - particularly when usability is not just impeded, but virtually gone.

Also note that the blue on black is unreadable outdoors, even in shade.

I love this site, bit it's painful on my n800.

I don't any issues with readability or compatibility . . . it just takes forever to load on my N800.

The site is almost unusable on my N800, what a shame. I have selected both N810 and N810 v2, but the giant N810 blocks 1/3 of the screen. I know people are working to fix the site but so far no joy here!

I highly recommend the MicroB browser:

It would be great with a mobile-optimized version, not only the looks but also the load.. over my phone connection it takes several minutes to get to the forums start page. Also, for a mobile-optimized version it would be great if it could be reached directly through a separate link, e.g. forums/mobile (e.g. like slashdot.org/palm, which is super-fast even over the mentioned phone connection). In order to avoid having to first load the slow one, before getting to the fast, optimized one..

That's my wishlist anyway!

Thanks Reggie, but I have chosen to use "Classic" for now, it works fine for me when browsing the http://www.internettablettalk.com/forums/index.php

link. The http://www.internettablettalk.com/ link will give me the "new" look even if I have "Classic" as my default.

fwiw the site looks as good in Chinook as in the desktop. I'm also looking forward for a tablet-specific view with slimmer header and Kbs to get directly to the stuff.

Just one thing: clicking to the numbers at "Page 7 of 7 « First < 5 6 7" with the finger in order to move to next pages is mission impossible. I threw away the stylus in order to put on real test the thumb mode and this is the only serious obstacle I find to browse (casually) ITt.

Hi,

My requests (if you allow me) would be:
. previous/next page links or buttons that could be used by fingers
. remove the keyboard at the bottom!

Thx,
Chris

The new itT site works best in Microb. Fine, I switched over to Microb but it is slow, when I hold the down (or up) button on the D-pad it jumps a half page before scrolling and I cannot increase the default font size.

Tell me I don't have to push my son to one side at the Desktop PC just to check itT... Will Microb in OS2008 be more mature? Are there any fixes to my problems in the meantime?

I have honestly tried searching the forum but that is not very easy on Microb either...

Is just one of many reasons I will NOT run the microb, not even close to being ready for prime-time.

Once you get on the ITT site go to the more link, then at the very bottom of the page in the forum area change the default to classic version or one of the mobile ones, is the only way to get the header and menu icons on the N800 running the default browser (Opera) at least this will get us through for now.

Am just curious but how does the new ITT look and run on the N810 ? Is this already the beginning of the end for the N800 and OS2007 ?

I love my IT and read these forums many times a day and appreciate all the hard work Reggie and many others have put into making this the greatest IT site on the web, but I'm lost on why the new layout doesn't work on the existing software and platforms, is this just the first step to the phase- out of the N770/N800 and the current OS ?

Maemo still doesn't look or run right with the current setup of IT's. It just boggles me on how the NIT browser and non-compliancy of some of the basic building blocks within viewing web pages and the current software on how it renders web pages.
