I think that he meant the layout of the keyboard, to show едц directly and not have to press a button to show them. We have it like that on the layout that Nokia gave us in Europe. Hope you understand.

I'll confirm the T key being missing in alphanum with smart-type off. I'm on the CSSU, as realsportscars already knows.

The rest of you should probably indicate that too - if you're using CSSU, PR1.3, PR1.2, or whatever. (Just checked, every other key works just fine for me.)

P.S. Alphanum is perfectly usable - the T still shows up in FastWrite. FastWrite-less Alphanum is LIMITED if a character is missing. But it's still usable. Just has a slow-down causing limitation.

That said, I suspect the fix amounts to just adding an extra character where the tuv key is defined, somewhere where realsportscars had a typo or something.

About crashing FastSms and other apps on libqtm-contacts.
I have 2 enabled ICQ accounts and contacts with the same ICQ number in 2 my contact lists. Problem seems to be there. Because when I disable any of accounts, problem disappears.

'T' is missing due to my error...you can modify /opt/fastsms/data/plain.txt adding the missing character T.
I will post a new version with this fix asap.

Thank you for notice

Hello realsportscar
Would like to ask if this would be possible.
Yes We have fastsms for portrait texting now. Integrates H-Call or MyContacts which supports portrait mode contact viewing also and now fastSMS Evo for portrait keyboard. But 1 thing bothers me is will there be also a support for a portrait message viewer(views messages you recieved in portrait mode)? As I can see all telephony functions of n900 have 3pp apps now with portrait mode support except for that thing.

4 questions regarding the fastsms:
1) Is there a way to remap the onscreen qwerty keyboard?
2) Does it support common word prefixes? (instead of multiplying the dictionary with each word prefix)
3) Is there a way to select multiple languages and replace them through the layout selector?
4) If either of the questions above is answered by 'no', can it be added?

Thanks.

Hi,
I is it possible to include a back button or any other kind of a button to close the FastSMSEVO keyboard when in portrait mode.
I am not sure of others but I have really think fingers and the space over the keyboard definitely seems less!

I have attached 2 files for the Hebrew language, one is based on numeric layout while the other is based on the qwerty layout.

Can you please add them to the next version?

I will try to compile a list of words and their matching numeric combinations. The only words DB I was able to found is the one from OpenOffice, so I'll probably write a script that transform those to numeric presses.

Thanks.

Attached is an idc file which contains basic Hebrew words DB (only 100K out of 70M) + numeric mapping.
I would like to thank the Technion institute that released the word corpora under GPL (http://www.mila.cs.technion.ac.il/he...ora/index.html) - For the record, I am not one of their graduates/students.

Several known issues with it:
1) The chars on the numeric keys are English and not Hebrew, so it takes some adjustments... It is part of the fastsms code, so I can't do much there.
2) Qwerty layout is English only - It would have been great if the layout was matching Hebrew and it was possible to switch between Hebrew and English layouts by the hyphen key (next to the 123 key).
3) The word DB is not complete but it is enough for a POC - it also needs some word cleanup and shorten the numeric route for words where possible. Because cleanup is needed, clicking on 1 will only show , or .. A better word DB might be based on the wikipedia one, but as I compiled the word DB on the N900 - not enough memory for that...

Converting script is also attached (first argument is the corpora file where first column is the frequency, and the second is the word).

I've got two questions:

Is a German keyboard layout included? If yes, how do I activate it? If no, can you integrate it?

Can you integrate a feature that hides the keyboard if I open the hardware keyboard (for FastSMSEvo)?
