For all that are using N900 for the first time:
First you should go to this link with your mobile's web browser:
http://repository.maemo.org/
Then you should click install on the fremantle extras-devel.
After that click yes to activate it in App manager.
Let App Manager refresh itself on demand.
then go to X-Terminal and type:
Code:
root
apt-get update
apt-get install preenv
If you still have problems, then post it here, I am sure maemo users will gladly help you.

tried updating d repositories f extras-devel nd extra-tester, both f wich dnt update...
Nd tryd d libgles1-sgx-img installation wich wrkd
Bt d preenv doesn't install nd shows d error E: Couldn't find package preenv
plz reply nd help

Your keyboard seems to have a major problem - it's scrambling what you're trying to say.

From what I can decipher, it seems that your N900 appears to have trouble updating the repository information?

Copy/paste the log of what's happening...

i got a problem during installing preenv
i installed rootsh
then went to X terminal
typed sudo gainroot
then typed apt-get install preenv
but notification is E: coulden find package preenv
please help me

install debian chroot nd try d whole procedure again.....
installin dat worked fr me....

when i type apt-get update I got this :
"

@: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems
"
I already installed rootsh and Fremantle Extras
Please help me !!!
