This is the point that no one understands. Nokia will not have a WP7 device till 2012. Wait, how is this different to Meego empty promises.

They are selling nearly 30 Million Symbian devices per quarter which pay the bills, and was just about to get patches that would fix the biggest gripes. Qt was the bridge between old and new.

So how are Nokia going to survive the Osborne effect between now and 2012. **** they will need this much time just to get pass the M$ lawyers on the deal. I'm telling you nothing will come of this.

Wel I did not say USA. America can be either north or south America. Anyway, that was not my point. I don't like the American culture. I prefer the modest down to earth Finnish culture

No seriously, I was correcting the OP because his rant incorrectly labeled Elop as an American bastard.

Not North American bastard. Not Northern Hemisphere bastard. But American bastard... like the 50 states kind.

That's like saying European culture when I'm only talking about Finland. Some folks play into pointed semantics of that sort when it comes down to nationalities.

And besides... Elop's tenure at Macromedia/Adobe was longer than it was with Microsoft.

No. This is the real world, not some school.
If you do a poor job and release half finsihed products when your competitors are pushing out stable, high-quality looking apps.. you deserve what you get.

In anycase, I think its only the Symbian guys getting the chop, Elop still "intends" to release one Meego device. For those who are left, this is their warning and its not a joke..

If the Meego phone is as smooth/fast as the iphone, apps written that look professional, easy dev tools.. it will sell better than the Nokia WP7 phone. Its supposed to be released first anyway?

They've just lost Nokia to Microsoft.

The world's largest mobile phone manufacturer.

30% worldwide marketshare.

1 in every 3 phones sold worldwide is Nokia branded.

I am sure the me ego phone will be top class. The 2 problems I anticipate are

1. Lack of app support because qt is being left.
2. No nokia big time push due to lack of funding as it will compete with wp7

Sounds familiar - n900
