I'm wondering if Maemo and Meego will continue to develop dispite what Nokia does?
Could Nokia continue making great hardware without an OS installed just for Linux and open-source users? Better yet, keep making the N900 but make it better, smaller, stronger and faster? I'm I dreaming? If you build it I will buy!!!

Do you really expect that someone from Nokia will actually answer this?

If you did your research you'd already have your answers.

Meego will still be going ahead, it is now just been reduced to a side task, or an occasional hobby if you will.

Maemo has pretty much been scrapped since last year. There won't be new hardware purpose built for Maemo 5.

Hasn't it been the end for quite a while now?

They are just dragging out the process that's all.

What's cool about this is that whatever piece of tablet hardware Nokia build to run MeeGo (and I really hope they still do), by necessity it will have better specs than the N900. Maemo is a very trimmed down Linux distribution, MeeGo is not.

Who cares what Nokia do!
We already have Maemo + N900!

If you're desperate for another open source mobile, grab an OpenMoko!

Just stick with your N900! Someone may port Maemo to the next A9 dual core... oooooh baby! That'd be niiiice!
