As it is now, before I begin to type anything I first have to resize the display.

Thanks.
Oops. I'm doing a bit of testing on the fix for this before sending it out.

During a long conversation, this is what I tend to do now.

Bring up text window.

Click inside chat window.

This then shows hildon keyboard.

Resize window to full screen.

After so many texts, what this does is show like the last two messages at the very top of the screen so you don't have to keep messing around with the scroll bar.

If you could reproduce this effect automatically for those who don't have a hardware keyboard, that would be awesome!

I've done a little bit more testing, fixed a few more bugs with fullscreen / orientation setting and am now pushing it out to the builder. Let me know if you see any issues.

Joy!

"The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters."

Joy!

Because you have a hardware keyboard, I doubt you would go for this...

But yeah, it would be nice if there was a way too bring the history higher up on the screen so I don't always have to mess with the scroll bar when responding.

Text sometimes still run off the screen.

Sometimes, after refreshing, the latest message won't appear but will when you click on it to respond.

Sometimes a new message will show up but when responding it won't be there.

Certain things will never appear. For instance "<3", used to say love, will never display.

Awesome version though Ed.

Many thanks!

It is something that could be done not just for old devices but theoretically for new devices without a HW keyboard. I'm not too sure what the best approach would be but would you file an enhancement request about that in b.m.o?

Runs off which screen? The History view or the texting screen?

Not too sure why the message tab would miss messages (unless its a text overflow issue) but I can think of a couple cases where the SMS window would need to be updated and adding it in.

Uhh, I'm not aware of it ever doing that.

The history screen sometimes runs off, never the texting screen.

Nothing weird but sometimes there isn't a carriage return when a new message arrives either, both on the history and texting screen.

I'll send you a text right now that says

I love you Ed. <3

Tell me what you get on your end beside creepy vibes from me. *lol*

Not sure about the others for the problem with <3 is that it is trying to render it as broken HTML. I've just uploaded a fix. It will require a refresh because it is stored in the cache in the incorrect form.

Version 1.2.28

Texting window is now broken.

When writing a long message, the letters run off the screen and you can't see what you are typing anymore.

Really? I didn't even change anything related to that in 1.2.28. Did you skip a release or two? Is this when in fullscreen or regular?
