It blows my mind to watch games like wipeout 2097 run full speed without gles acceleration. It's only a shame that the framerate seems to take a nosedive when you get hit with mines dropped by opponents, because it's otherwise perfect.

I can't install the PSX4M-gui, it says application packages missing libqt4-core ( =4.7.0 git .......etc) . Do I need to be PR 1.3 ? I already have psx4m psx4mgles pcsxrearmed and even psx4mdbg already installed. Can someone clarify it for me?

GLES Rendering errors:
pcsx -gles is incapable of correctly rendering rocket explosions in Rollcage and Rollcage: Stage II due to a misallocated texture. Both games will slown down to a crawl until the emulator no longer has to process the faulty texture (which are both actually the backgrounds of the loading screens).
RC1:

RC2:

The same texture is rendered as a HUD overlay whilst it's raining in RC2 and whilst watching a demo (idle at the main menu) in RC1. The situation in RC1 somehow resolves itself when the countdown ends and the race starts. Rain in RC1 does not cause any rendering issues at all.
RC1:

RC2:
A nice comparison shot between software- and GLES-rendering:

GLES screenshots:

OpenGLES rendering is great. I love it. It runs pretty wel with the ARM at 1150MHz and it's even better than Sony's own shot at PS1 emulation;
The PS3's native PS1 emulator doesn't support hardware acceleration and merely upscales the image, making it look extremely blurry and pixelated.

I don't have a PayPal account as the standard in the Netherlands for online payment is iDeal, but I'll make sure to create one soon and send some cash your way for your efforts.

Edit:
Do you guys want me to record a video?

Thanks Bonapart. I am lazy to upgrade to 1.3 and afraid to loose some app functionality but I should upgrade soon, does pcsx support .img games format or only .iso? Thank you for the great work.

I attempted a download of a PS emulator a while ago and am only revisitng this now.

Ae they now much more improved or do we still have the sound issues in games? I remember Resident Evil being slow with sloooooow speech

great work bonapart!!
Ive tried a few of games out, all work without open gles fine.

Ridge racer type 4 starts but has none of open gles acceleration or
texture blending/mip mapping.

gdarius works with gles, looks to have black edges around alphas texture issues on the, some sort of premultiplication problem.

crash bandicoot 3 works with gles but still has the Zbuffer xray issues

megaman legends works with gles. same black edges around alpha textures such as clouds.

crashbash works pretty well with gles but not as fps wise with gles off.

hope this info is useful in someway.
cheers
nick
