While this is not maemo related, I just wanted to share with you all that the latest google chrome seems to be flying, it uses very little resources even while playing 1080p videos on youtube....

I run some tests against the same test page with ie and it would not even run the tests, even opera performed quite poorly in comparison to chrome, it looks very promosing....

probably using some kind of hardware acceleration.

Can we we get the debian install on the n900?

Well, since we are talking about browsers. Today, I installed Firefox 4 Beta.

And, although I didn't run any benchmarks, it felt faster than 3.x. I liked it quite a bit.

FF 4 with hardware accelaration enable runs the tests at about the same speed as opera, so this release of chrome is certainly faster

Yes Chrome is fast! Have you seen this?

Too bad my favorite FF add-ons (noscript, adblock, etc.) don't exist for Chrome. Or do they?

Adblock Plus (official version) was recently released for Chrome/Chromium:

There's also an imitation of NoScript called "NotScripts" but I haven't tried that yet.

I don't think this area is for talking about how fast software runs on PCs. If you are talking about N900 software, please provide links. If you are talking about software on PCs, go to Off Topic.

Dunno about the original Adblock, but the previous ad blocking extensions for Chrome blocked the ads after they load which is kind of pointless but as far as I know Chrome doesn't allow extensions to dig that deep inside.
