As Texrat pointed out, stocks in general are dropping because of the international situation and rising oil prices.

However, this is not good news for Nokia. It's kind of like the problematic terrain that Nokia is navigating suddenly got quicksand on top of everything else.

What happens when money gets tighter? People get more conservative and older operating systems start looking better, as do wives. There's no place like home, Toto. Companies that are in the midst of big reorganizations look riskier.

Woot??? I didn't know that Google cut away the kernel coz that what the term Linux is really associated with. Unless ofc you mean all those distros out there, but then again there are so many which one are u picking on?

I'm not too sure how much of android takes from chrome os, but didn't a team from canonical get contracted to help develop it?

That is a good point, but how does this stack against other mobile companies? Also if it was money related wouldn't the alleged monies from MS pushed up the prices?

Good analysis indeed. Though Elop insisted that Nokia would not dump Symbian, but almost all financial analysts in general believe that Nokia _must_ dump Symbian, and that's a huge impact on the financial future. May be they know deep down their heart that Elop is a pathetic liar, or Microsoft has a track records of manipulating its alliance to its favour, or both.

Few optimistic financial analysts (and many tmo crowds here) thought the alliance means diversity of production and diversity must be good.

However, the track records of Microsoft tell us that no MS alliance are allowed to diversify. Microsoft has their ways to control their alliance which I've mentioned before.

Again: keep waiting for a bottom, and you'll miss out on opportunities.

Careful, that almost sounds like investment advice.

Oh no. Not in the slightest.

My stepdad is the gambler. He's lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in the market because he keeps "forgetting" to include stop-loss orders on his holdings. He never listens to advice, either.

I'm pretty conservative with investments. That's why overall my IRA creeps steadily upwards.

Feh. I'm not affiliated with Nokia any more.
