are you talking about n900 battery or laptop battery? I think its normal that ad hoc network drains your battery faster than wireless usually. if i remember right ad hoc network works so that both of the devices create wifi around them and it does us more power than just joining a wifi. poor battery life is wery known issue with n900 and that is why i carry always fully charged spare battery and USB-cable with me.

my n900 always failed to connect with the Dlink wifi router. I tried it in my friend's place as well as in my Uncle's place. But it was a negative.

But when i tried it with netgear router it connected without any problem.

Guys any solution ?
