Let's be serious here. Facebook does not change their API that often. The change that affected FaceBrick happened a long time ago and it could have been fixed by now if there was interest. Plus, the change was a pretty major one and was announced as I recall.

so the reason facebrick stopped working is that it relied on the old REST api. The new (oauth) graph api is what i am basing my app on. And besides that, my app is extremely modular so any api changes (barring some major api re-architecting) should be very manageable and easy to accommodate.

I will try and look into setting up an official app page for this QML facebook app. I already have it compiling to an executable for i386, but i don't have an environment set up to compile for armel, and i can't seem to find the qt4-qmake package in the maemo repositories.

Once i have an official app page, i will set up a deb source package so it can be auto built for i386 and armel.

yet another reason for maemo/meego failure. This stuff just does not happen on iOS. I recall all the "oh well"s I received when I asked for a simple update to the Witter and Mauku clients.

looking forward to the promising apps from pjs and tlaukkanen, but thought in the meantime I'd give another plug to just using touch.facebook.com. a lot of people complain about not being able to see pictures since the whole pop-over change on the main facebook site, but the touch site actually has a super functional touch friendly picture view that adjusts for switching portrait/landscape, has nice next/back buttons, etc.

I always liked touch.facebook.com. But unfortunately, despite the name, it is not really touch friendly. Most buttons are so small and some don't react until you get tired ot pressing them.

The truth it, we really need a facebook app. A real facebook app, with all functionalities, including Notifications.
