wondering because when I change my background telescope remains black. (granted that is a good look)
After you reboot or 'kill' the telescope the background will be the same of your wallpaper.

If anybody create icons share with us

Yep, Telescope must be restarted when you change wallpaper. But it's better to run (as root):
/etc/init.d/telescope-svc restart
instead of just kill May be i will add wallpaper change detection in future releases, but this is low priority task.

Agreed, higher priority is adding config option to set different wallpaper for window thumbnails and launcher.

For icons, you can always look to this site.

I think it would be cool to have a separate background image for Telescope. As an option maybe; if that would be possible in a future update. I'm really liking it as it is, already. I especially like the simpified button layout in Kroll's post, (#254), earlier in this thread.

There is already the option to set custom background for telescope: add "background.filename = /path/to/file" to /etc/telescope.conf and restart Telescope.

I will try to implement category grouping like in Kroll's mockup soon.

Thanks for the telescope task switcher, which is looking great and thus makes working with my N810 more fun. Together with Diablo 5 theme the N810 is a great new gem now.

For those, you have not yet tried it out, here are some of my notes, which I hope to be useful for someone:

Navigation
As described by silvermountain

Start Telescope: Home Key
Start Launcher: Press Home Key again
Go from Launcher to Telescope: Press Home key
Exit to Desktop (from Telescope): Tap any area outside of the app windows - or press Escape
Exit to Desktop (from Launcher): Tap any area outside of the app windows - or press Escape

Configuration

Principle configuration

(0) Control panel / Panels (within Personalization section) / Task navigator / Telescope launcher or Applications Organize
(1) Organize your applications in application categories

Manually changing the icons in category bar

http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=255

(0) Start telescope by pressing the Home Key
(1) Press and hold on the application category (e.g, Internet) to add or change an icon -> a line on top of the bottom tab bar shows up
(2) Click on preferred icon

I use 14 categories. My max size icon is 64x64 which gets cut-off slightly at the corners; I use this larger icon for a major category.

File to change: /home/user/.telescope.cats

Code:
[Icons]
Internet=/usr/share/telescope/category-icons//web.png
Text=/usr/share/telescope/category-icons/emblem-office.png
(...)

Originally in telescope.cats there are 2 backslashes at the end in front of the file name, one also works fine.

Traditional category names
tana_fi_settings
tana_fi_extras
tana_fi_communication

Icon information:
file web.png
web.png: PNG image data, 53 x 53, 8-bit/color RGBA, non-interlaced
phone.png: PNG image data, 48 x 48, 8-bit/color RGBA, non-interlaced
emblem-desktop.png: PNG image data, 64 x 64, 8-bit/color RGBA, non-interlaced

Icons installation
http://gnome-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=121
(0) Select and download icons
(1) Untar (tar xzf icons.tar.gz) and select your favourite icons
(2) Move Icon to your image folder or to /usr/share/telescope/category-icons/
(3) Change icon within .telescope.cats (see above)

Wow! Thank you for such compiled manual.
Telescope really lacks documentation. And the icon!
(Kroll, do you remember you draw some icon? )

I can only add that if you are attracted to hacking things, Telescope also has a number of parameters that can be configured in /etc/telescope.conf.
Most of them affects visual appearance. For example, location of pixmaps, sizes of borders, colors, etc.
But there are also several parameters that can change its behavior.

Here is a link to my post with the list of the parameters (in russian ): http://n8xx.com/post52175.html#p52175
This list is little outdated. I will translate it to english and post here, also adding new parameters which were added recently.

Mitrandir, you could insert the (awesome) manual scy has written in the thread's first post, so it is not lost among hundreds of posts.

I certainly do. But I do not have time to draw icons... I do not have time to finish next release of Diablo 5 even!
