Is there any way to save a flash game for playing when not in range of wireless? Let's face it, there's not all that many good games for the n800, but there's a ton of flash games on the internet, of varying quality. Is there any way to save a flash game that is embedded in a webpage? I know if you open the flash file directly by viewing the source (on the PC) and then entering that link on the tablet, then you can do save page as which will save the flash, but I was hoping for a way to do this only using the tablet.

I don't see a simple view source option, but in the MicroB browser you can save the web page, and check out the source in a text editor.

You can just download the .swf files and save them locally. If you figure out what the link is.. on my desktop I use a privoxy proxy, I just look for the name in its logfile, then I download with wget.

There was a thread on ITT many months ago about flash games, with a link to where you could download a whole bunch of them and with a local index.html file or some such IIRC. I don't remember the details (but search for flash games on ITT), anyway I tested this and I can confirm that it works just fine to run locally stored flash games. I never continued to play them though, because they weren't really feasible without an actual 3-button mouse.

Yea i usually dig them out of temporary internet files folder on desktop xp machine and copy them over to nokia.

They run a bit slow so you might have to experiment with windowed mode, fullscreen mode, or even zooming. You can also try right clicking flash to choose low quality mode, or in the pharoes tomb game use menu to disable animations and set to low quality. These games also benefit from 2008 speed bump to 400mhz. The acid factory game bogs down with dpad button but if thats kinda a device driver thing so i left it in there... 810 users might find very usable mapping to other keys on keyboard.

Flash games do have drawback that they dont really have save game feature so you either have to restart from beginning or remember some long/weird level code.

If you use Firefox on your desktop then get an extension called UnPlug.

You just click on the UnPlug toolbar icon and you get a list of URLs and a SAVE button for any Flash or other embedded media in the web page you were browsing.

There may be other similar extensions, I just ran into this one first and it does the job for me.

there should be an swf media player, with a similar interface as mplayer or uktube. that would be pretty sweet.

Yeah, my point in the first post was more that its not possible to save a flash game solely using the Tablet. IE, you need some other method to get the actual link to the file using a PC, before you can save it.

It'd be better if it was possible to use a Greasemonkey script or something along those lines to download the files directly from the tablet.
