Please understand, that one is never sure about real ownership matters with this kind of question, so bottom line is: There is no help for recovering lost security codes.

That's not true. There are certain members of this forum who think that it's up to them to decide if your phone is stolen or not and if you deserve help etc.

But there's a big thread here which should help: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=37808

Basically you need to prove that you bought the phone.

The purpose of a security code is to provide security. Requests to publish instructions for evading security codes are in effect requests to abolish security and not only will they be read by people making the request but by others whose intentions can not be known.

Well, lets face it, every action can either have a positive or negative motive. it's like asking someone for a knife to chop some veggies - the owner can either suspect that the asker is going to murder someone and lead the police to him, or he could believe the asker and hand him a knife. i am in the same situation as the person who needs to unlock their phone. I can relay my story to you incase you have any doubts: my little brother nearly wrecked my phone the last time he touched it because i hadn't put a security code on it. so, i then put on a super-complicated code that i have now forgotten in order to keep my brother away. the result is that my parents are super-angry at me, my dad had to pay $700 to the stupid nokia care centre people just to get into my phone but they weren't bothered to change the code. they said that since my phone was manufactured in germany, i had to go to GERMaNY to get it fixed. so now my dad doesn't know that i forgot my lock code - he thinks the problem is solved and my little brother is even more eager to get his hands on my phone since he knows i can't lock it. so, if anyone can help me PLEASE do, i just need to say that i CANNOT install this John the Ripper software because if my dad finds it i'll be in more trouble than ever. I'll give you the rootsh code but if you could please run it on your John the Ripper software i would be most grateful!
Please help!!
Kyla

If there's a way around it, then it wasn't real security in the first place. Just anti-n00b-protection in case you loose your device.
