People are starting to pick them up already in the US. The N800 is still $400+ in Canada. *sigh*

It has? From what I've seen nothing at all about the N810 has been well advertised.

I've also not seen anything official from anyone directly connected with Maemo saying that the release has slipped. All I've seen is Texrat saying "it's well known it's slipped" - I think I missed the first couple of times he said it, 'cos then it wouldn't have been well known ;-)

The last official thing was the Maemo announcement saying they were now in the distribution channels. We also have thoughtfix saying they can be ordered now in the US, and hearing that some people are being told they're shipping now.

Estimate dates on sites like Expansys are usually useless, too. So can anyone say definitively a) that it's definitely been delayed; b) by how long; c) who made this decision and how it's been communicated?

May be Texrat himself said it in a post and I've read it...

Anyway they never said "this week", they only said "it will be shipping soon",
(and "mid-november"), so we all thought it would have been the just ended week.
At least hoped: as most of us got the discount already.
I for one was really happy to receive ahead of time.
It's been a long week, and I kind of like the waiting (as I know I will eventually get it ).

So well.. weekend is here, time to rest an play with the OS2008 beta firmware we've "stolen" so far.

Folks... maybe just sit back and enjoy life ? It will be out when it's ready... As Hedgecore said, there are plenty of interesting things to to in the meantime

Actually, I'd've been surprised if it was released last week. I would've been less surprised about it being released next week; but just wanted to find out when this delay was first mentioned/decided/announced and whether that'd conflict with what I'd heard about device availability from someone relatively in-the-know.
