Thanks everyone.

After a stressful re-flash (it is the first time I've had to do it) I have a "new" N900 to play with.

Feels slow though. Like it was out of the box before the first update (I brought on launch). How do I make everything a little snappier?

Is there a good thread somewhere which will help me get back up to speed, or should I create one? Searching has provided me with little at this point sadly!

Thanks again.

Depends what you'd done before really. There's the power kernel which allows for overclocking (which can potentially damage the CPU and/or void the warranty), Theme Customizer (and other similar apps) which allows changing the transition times (which can make the N900 feel snappier), or there's the new CSSU which offers updates to a number of the core packages (and may/may not make things feel faster - opinions seem to differ), but that's still in a testing phase so isn't really suitable for the average user.

The only other thing is that it may be just running things like tracker to index the files on the N900, in which case performance will pick up once that's completed.

Recently I found it impossible to reflash after flashing the eMMC without rebooting first, and my system is now working perfectly. So the official point that rebooting between flashes is a great sin is not always true. I am not the only one who has ever posted this information, BTW. You shouldn't boot between flashes -- unless you have to.

I added 2 new catalogues to my app manager.

Catalogue Name: maemo.org extras testing
Catalogue Name: maemo.org extras devel

Then i updated my app manager. But I hadn't any time to install apps.So after few mins I opened the app manager. But it tells

"operation failed"

And I checked the log.

hildon-application-manager 2.2.35-3
write: Broken pipe
write: Broken pipe
apt-worker exited.
apt-worker: can't truncate lock /var/lib/hildon-application-manager/apt-worker-lock: No space left on device
read: Bad file descriptor
apt-worker is not running

Now im fed up with reading threads to find the solution for my problem.I cant install or unstall apps.
And my phone always tells that

"unble to receive or send new massages
Device storage is full
Remove data to free memory"

But there are 965.1mb for installable apps. And 2.72gb available in my phne .

I have rebooted my phone several times..But it doesn't work.
I bought this phone in this year and im new to this device.
please please help me with step by step instructions..
