I'm sorry, but the specs aren't the problem with anything Nokia could make today--it's their corporate attitudes against customers and supporting their products. What *I* would finally consider buying from Nokia would be just a competitive device (doesn't have to be ultra-super-number-one-awesome-ohyeah specs)... it would just have to be, finally, open-source friendly, developed FOR the customers and community alike with the power to maintain the operating system in the hands of the consumer or even third party companies (so long as they contribute to the GPL'ed OS) while Nokia tries to restore the lost faith in their brand name to individual, corporate and government consumers who otherwise could get competitive or far better support from another manufacturer, brand and platform. If they were particularly smart, they would foster the idea of franchising licensed Nokia repair centers all around the world and producing parts for consumers and repair centers to purchase or to hack and invent new remixed devices based on Nokia's hardware and software for whatever specific purpose they might come up with.

If they built an open platform that fosters the success of OTHERS, they themselves would be the brand and platform that would finally lead a market segment all their own AND they could also make out like bandits on both their brand licenses (franchised repair centers, branding, etc.) as well as foster an environment in which they could sell support contracts to businesses (i.e. Red Hat, IBM, etc).

I think concentrating on the hardward specs is thinking far too small, people... but that's me.

yet another link that make me wonder if it is a handset?.(see link after my post) facts is its more logical too be a tablet for many reeasons:

N9 was dished some says cause of operators disliked its qwerty keyboard.

Nokia has gone WP7 release an meego handset could be bad if it success atleast for Elop and his friend Ballmer...

Maybe thats why engineers inside Nokia now officially supports meego on n900 instead cause they knows that there is know olther meego handset in pipeline...

just take a look at Skillmans blogspot and.other nokians no one really hasnt said its an handset just a "meego product"

Personally I dont expect any meego handset anymore...

also they have E7/N8 as a "replacement" for n900 with qt app support so its probadly most logical for them to release a tablet..

Id also like it to have:
X-ray;
Parachute;
Cofee Dispenser;
TDT;

And when unfolded it should turn into a small city car (like Smart).
I'dd give 1000$ for it.

It's a functionnality list: the N900 do most of these functionnality list.
I add some lines with N8's functionnality and some modern's phone caracteristics.

It's not my fault if N900 do that but it's that's we want!

And Nokia have to heard the custommers: we want a phone like in my list, with MeeGo and a physical Keyboard but people want a simple phone, slim, with Android...

So the N950 without keyboard, it's a big "connerie à la con", like we say in France!

Nokia have to made a N950 slim and design, like the Nokia E7 with MeeGo, with a keyboard.

For user-friendly phones, they will do it with their next Windows Mobile phones, without keyboard...

The N900 was mostly called a mobile computer that can make phone calls by Nokia, not a smartphone. Just becuase Nokia don't call it a phone, doesn't mean it won't be able to be used as a phone, then again you can use the Dell Streak as a phone, but would you want to?

Many things are patented that never see the light of day, and that was patented before Elop took over, I don't think we can infer anything from it.

Now, how about finding a different thread (or craeting a new one) for speculation on what Nokia will actually produce, and keep this one for what people actually desire.
