Unfortunately I can't really recommend any Android-handset for one, who really appreciates the N900. If you're not a power-user (as I believe that is the case in this case), then maybe HTC? They've been quite good for my knowledge to keep their handsets up to date with the stock Android.

If you really want to have the power of Android then you'll have to consider Nexus-lineup. It's the most easiest to root and you'll have most of the access then, if I'm right. In normal handsets you might be able to have root-access as well, but it can be tricky, as it was with (to my knowledge) with Motorola Droid 2 and HTC Desire Z.

What you'd really need to know is this. Will the normal Android-handset be enough for you? Do you need the root-access to the device? Are you a power-user? Once you know what you want you should go out and buy it. Or buy it with postal service. Again, it is up to you.

Sorry for all the bolding but it really is necessary in this case. Don't let people tell you what to get, just get what suits you the best. That's why I got N900 and will not most likely give up on it. I appreciate it, I like it and that's it. If someone doesn't like the fact that I'm using the N900 and tries to convert me to use something else, that I don't want, then I'll just tell him/her to piss off (unless it's a work-phone, then I may have to reconsider).
Perhaps, HE was looking toward US for suggestions and opinions? After all, what with all the people who kept slapping away disappointed new N900 owners with "you should have researched it more before you bought it", your argument isn't really very reasonable. Near as I can tell, it sounds like he's researching his options and making HIS own opinions by asking for ours. Just my observation, mind you.

Was that question aimed at anyone in particular? If it was to me--I certainly think I would once it's baked to stability for any of my devices. I've already installed and run it on my Nook Color and it ran pretty good--but it's not finished yet so it's buggy on the Nook device. I tried it on the Xoom and it was pretty fluid and magnificent there, surprisingly. I wasn't sure that I was going to really feel comfortable with how different it was, but I think I really ended up liking the direction it is going in.

I can only assume your failure to address my points is a result of you not being intelligent enough or because you know they're truth.

You are fulfilling the stereotypes for your age.

You have still failed to address my points. I fear you never will.

I assume your tumblr is full of gripping teenage content such as:

"HAR HAR FUNNY CAT"

"Oh no, my teenage relationship ended"

"Oh no, my potential teenage relationship never existed"

"I have a shiny new device, it is the best ever"

"This man said nasty words to me, I hate him"

Incredible stuff!

You are still a child, I'll forgive your actions.

Oh, I don't particularly care what other people think of me.

I'm starting to wonder if you're replying just for the sake of being the star of his tumblr feed.

Yeah, I forgot about that in my post. Sure, anyone can ask for assistance in selecting the new phone but this thread, if you ask me, is not the way to do it.

We all know how I love the attention of children. Nothing quite like being the result of immature jokes.

Those images were funny many years ago...
